Всегда с удивлением отмечала, насколько мне близки два совершенно разных персонажа: обласканная любовью Женя Комелькова, “общительная и озорная” и ее полный антипод: спрятавшаяся от мира в свои фантазии, сирота Галя Четвертак. В связи с первым сентября пересматривала свои детские фотографии, и увидела, действительно, смотрят на меня оба лица…. С высоты лет я вижу как две разные прически вытягивали и поддерживали разные черты характера. В следующем тексте попробую рассказать, как вижу взаимодействие этих причесок с моими типичными славянскими чертами. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸I usually keep several browsers opened with the texts of the Russian literature masterpieces to read between my projects and one of them is a novel “The Dawns Are Quiet Here.” It is about young Soviet girls on the battle-field of the World War Two. Published in 1969, made into a movie in 1972 and nominated for Oscars in 1973, it is still considered the most beloved movie about the World War Two in Russia, according to the polls. Our signature battlefield film is about women. The story features five girls whose characters develop during the doomed guerrilla operation against the Nazi. It always amazed me how closely I identified with two polar characters. Daring Zhenya who faced love, battlefield and death with fury and wit. And reticent Galya, who shied away from life into her imaginary world. She found death because of her inner fears, rather than facing the enemy. No two characters could be further apart and yet, I closely identified with both of them. As I looked through my childhood pictures recently I suddenly noticed how the change of my hairstyle channeled these two different characters in me. How far a hairstyle can take you 😳!?
