One of the images that defined me. Berlin, May 1945. Soviet soldiers putting a USSR flag on top of Reichstag indicating the End of World War Two. The war that for Russia certainly wasn’t a campaign, but a deadly battle for survival. It started on June 22 of 1941 with Nazi invading and kept the country fighting for itself and for the Eastern Europe for four long years, ending up doing the heavy duty & the dirty job before the victorious US troops arrival in 1944. 1500 days and every single one of them was a Pearl Harbor. May 9 is a Memorial Day in Russia. The day we remember our Soviet grandparents, thank them for their selflessness and pray for Never Again.
